All children in Comoros attend Quranic School and learn some classical Arbic and Islamic faith. The children start attending Quranic schools at 5 years of age. Sometimes, these children work with teachers. Quranic education continued for 2 to 3 years is provided for free.

The formal system of education in Comoros was first introduced by French consisting of primary and secondary schools. The French based formal education is still continues. The primary schooling requires 6 years of studies and secondary education 7 years.
